I grew up diagonally across lower South Main Street, from Holland, Corbin and Judy. I was the Johnson's paperboy; Judy Johnson often babysat for my brother and my sister and me. Mr. Johnson (Charles) was infinitely patient with my and my brother's constant pestering about the dates for the "next" Palmer Grange Fair. I worked (for a short time) with Holland and Mr. Johnson across the Stone Street bridge, at Rathbone Corporation, drawing wire. The Johnsons were a wonderful family...and I...
