I didn't know Hollis for very long, really only in the last two years of his life, but if we had not crossed paths I may not be alive today, or at the very least sober. He found and secured a treatment center for me while I was in the midst of my own struggles with addiction. While there we spoke over the phone, and although I struggled a lot that year, he was always patient, willing to listen, and understanding.
