Holly Lynn Drost Holly Lynn Drost, 39, of Fairmont passed away Tuesday, November 01, 2011 at Fairmont General Hospital following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Weirton on October 27, 1972, a daughter of Norman Wilson and his wife Norma of Colliers, WV and Maggie (Gzikowski) McDaniel and her husband Bill of Barnesville, Ohio. Holly had most recently worked at Meadowview Manor Health Care in Bridgeport as a dietary manager. She had also worked at Wishing Well Nursing Center and Heartland Nursing Center. She was a 1990 graduate of Brooke High School and also of Fairmont State University with a Associates Degree in Food and Nutrition. She enjoyed kayaking, vacationing at the Outer Banks, camping, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Drost of Fairmont, one sister, Wendy Palmer and her husband Eric of Steubenville, Ohio, her father-in-law, Jim Drost and his wife Kathryn of Parkersburg, two nieces, Lindsey Henderson and Shelby Strough, both of Pennsylvania, a nephew, Gage Palmer and several loving cousins. Also surviving is her brother-in-law, Jim Drost of North Carolina, two sisters-in-law, Diane Chioda and her husband Jim of Pennsylvania and Shawna Longstreth of Pennsylvania, her step-grandmother, Rose Edgell of Colliers, WV, her step-siblings, Amie Sacco of Plano, Texas, Liz McDaniel of Wheeling Island, Roger McDaniel of Parkersburg and Billy McDaniel of Wheeling Island, her good friend Linda Zukowsky, her chocolate lab, Bella, and her cat, Mister Bailey. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Mary Wilson, her maternal grandparents, Charles and Martha Gzikowski, and her step-grandfather, Loman Edgell. Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont on Friday from 1-8 pm and on Saturday from 11 am – 12pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 12 pm with Pastor Ken Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jeff Drost, 1211 Woodland Crescent, Fairmont, WV 26554.
