Homer N. Beasley of Crystal Lake Homer N. Beasley, 77, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1935, in Sheffield, AL, to the late Haywood and Emma Lee (nee King) Beasley. He married Margaret J. Ross on May 29, 1964, in Chicago. Homer served in the Army in Germany and, after his military service, worked as a plumber and went on to own Smith & Associates in Elk Grove Village. Homer enjoyed tinkering with antique cars, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Margaret, survivors include his children, Debbie Lessner, Stan Beasley, Tina (Phil) Stout and Cathy (Fred) Sanderson; grandchildren, Tyler and Amber Beasley, Lance and Troy Stout and Freddy Sanderson; and brother, Jimmy (Cheryl) Beasley. In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Beasley; grandson, James Beasley; and brothers, Hoke and Ed Beasley. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary, Cary.
