I spent my youth and adulthood living in Minnesota and only recently re-discovered family roots. At the same time I smile and give thanks that I had the chance to know him at all. I can honestly say that I will always be able to remember Uncle Homer with a smile on my face. I can't think of a time when he was present that we weren't laughing and having a good time. His wit and sense of the absurd was keen. He even had me laughing at the most unlikely of events like Big Mama's wake.
