I worked with Homer at UMA Engineers in the 70s. While we never had any social connections, he has remained in my mind because we both loved words. It did not take long for us to get into a routine of bringing in a new word to leave on the other's desk each morning, as an exercise in expanding the mind and challenging our knowledge. He was a creative and precise engineer and I am glad to know he had a rich life and retirement after UMA.
