Homer Yasui

Homer was a kind gentleman who worked tirelessly to preserve our Nikkei heritage. Our families shared the same last name, and he grew with my dad's family nearby, so he shared memories and documents with me. I'm forever grateful to him for the friendship he shared with us and his thoughtfulness. Thank you, Homer.

It was always great to talk to Homer. He had such positive energy and even though he had a career in medicine, his heart was in history. My maternal grandfather H Hishikawa bought his pear and asparagus farm with the help of Masao Yasui in Dee , Oregon. He sold the farm before the family left for Pinedale and later Minidoka.
