Donn was a wonderful resource to Hill staff, his door always open, he and his staff always receptive to questions and suggestions. His stories offered insight to the evolving Congress as well as his own personal journey. My heartfelt condolences. May he rest in peace.

A most honorble man. I remember his devotion to the Eucharist when we prayed the Mass together at St. Joseph's on the Hill.

I am a long lost cousin of Donnald. His father, Russell and my father Norman, were brothers. He looks just like Norm. I regret that I didn't get to meet him. What a wonderful, accomplished man. Rest in peace. If any family members read this, I would love to connect...

I served with Donn on the Finance Committee at St Joseph's and got to know him over the years as a fellow parishioner. He epitomized Cardinal Newman's definition of a "gentleman," viz. "one who never inflicts pain." He loved the Church, his adopted city of Washington, his friends, and the House of Representatives. His stories about his years in public service were full of wit and wisdom. His example of faith and friendship continue to inspire me. It saddens me greatly that he has passed away,...

It was a great pleasure knowing Donn -- one that leaves me with deep respect for him and sadness that he is gone. He was a unique and towering presence in the House: formal, yet congenial, always in a three-piece suit, gold pocket-watch chain draped over a substantial middle. He was the knowledgeable staff sergeant to the green lieutenant -- or, in this case, freshman member of Congress. A cherished memory.

Donn Anderson was a friend of mine during my years of service in the Congress. Although we were of different political parties, that did not separate us as we both revered the institution of the U.S. House of Representatives and its possibilities for creating good public policy. We also had a connection through our belief in the importance of the Congressional Page program. Most importantly, I admired his dedication to our shared Catholic faith. He will be greatly missed.

Donn Anderson was a kind soul and patriot who cared deeply for the institution of Congress. I am proud to have worked for him. As a convert to Catholicism he enjoyed quizzing his fellow Catholics on patron saints and feast days.
"Do you know what feast day we celebrate today, Frank?" "Uh...no...I'm sorry I don't...Mr. Anderson"
"It's the feast of 'Saint Christina The Astonishing'...Oh you...

It was the privilege of a lifetime to have worked for Mr. Anderson when he was Clerk of the United States House of Representatives. He was a fine man. Always in a good mood. He kept the door to that huge office of his in the U.S. Capitol wide open at all times and encouraged all of his employees to drop in and say hello, which i had the pleasure of doing from time to time. What a class act. May he rest in peace.
