I can´t believe I just learned of Jim´s passing. We became friends in Bridgeport and continued being friends throughout his career and rise within the Circuit Court. He was always kind and unassuming. My heart goes out to his family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

My deepest condolences to Joanne, Carol, and the Pynes. Meg F

I learned of Judge Flannery's sudden passing last Tuesday from a candidate for circuit court who described him as "wise, and kind", and a role model for her if she was fortunate enough to become a judge herself. My own contact with Judge Flannery was a single telephone call, years ago, but he struck me as a thoughtful person. My condolences. Samuel H. Day III

My deepest sympathy to Carol Joanne ,Maureen Pat , grandchildren neices and nephews and all who loved Jim . He was all to all of you and I´m sorry for your loss . My prayers and love to all of you in this the hardest of times . Mary Bernadette Dalton Heinrich

Very sorry for our loss. Jim was a very thoughtful kind and gentle man. I was really fond of him and the great memories I have of Chesterton the dunes and the fun hours our families spent together. Maryann and my mother Maryellen were such very sweet friends. I saw the same sweet heart in Jim. Prayers for strength for the Flannery, Pyne and Alpert families. He will be welcomed with the open arms of Mom and Dad into the kingdom of Heaven.

Jim was a leader since his first days at LaLumiere his high school alma mater. Always quick with a one liner Jim was a stand out student, athlete and big brother to all the incoming students. In later years I was not surprised of the respect he was held in with his fellow jurists who spoke very highly of him. The City and the County lost a great friend and advocate. RIP Flannibus.

I met Jim Flannery in high school, along with his brother Pat. They were both kind and friendly and always curious. Jim was an outstanding attorney and judge, and I know a number of Chicago attorneys who spoke of him in awe. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends.
