Dee & Family -
I'm sorry that Laura and I were out of pocket this week. You know we loved your mother so, and I'll always remember her referring to me as "Rusty." That was always so confusing for a bumbling 10-year-old enjoying being with your Mom & Dad on nearly every birthday; one Lemon "Honey Pie" with a single candle, and your dad's ukelele seranade. Thank you, and bless you and your family during this time.

Dee,
We are out of town and just heard about the passing of your mom. We are deeply saddened by her passing but know that she is reunited with Johnny and Johnny Jr. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during this time of loss.

Dee,
I was very saddened to hear that Honey had passed. She was an extraordinary lady and I will always treasure the the time and memories spent with her and your entire family.
I will always love the Ray family and though I had not seen Honey in several years, I will never forget that beautiful smile. Please accept our condolences from the entire Shurbet family and you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Dear Dee I send my sympathy to you and your family. I known Mrs. Ray and you since I was a little girl she actually watch me grow. She was like a grandma to me and mother to my mother.

Dear Dee and Gary, Chad and Kim and Sunny and children, Ray and I were saddened to hear of Honey's passing. She was such a lovely lady. Ray said "Johnny was blessed to have Honey in his life and now Honey has slid right in beside him in Heaven". Please know that we love each of you and are honored to have friends like you come into our life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your loving memories of Honey bring you comfort. Your friends, Ray and Carol Moss

Dee, Gary and Family,
It was such an Honor to have known Honey. What a true southern lady she was in everyway. Through her we met all of you. What a Blessing!
She was such a wonderful friend to everyone. Honey is right where she wants to be, between the two men that she loved Dearly. Dee please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers each day.

Dear Dee and family, my heart is with you all at this time of great sorrow. It was an honor to know and been loved by Honey, she was more of a lady in her little finger than I can ever hope to be. But she did teach me well. She is now with pop and happy again. Do know the love I have for you and the whole family, you are still and will always be my sister, and may God Bless you now and in the future with your sorrow and know that I am always with you , love Carole (bandit)

Dear Johnny:
When I lived on Valley Avenue, and later in Cahaba Heights, I visited your folks' restaurant on Valley probably once or twice a week. Your folks always made me feel like family, giving smiles and hugs and encouragment. (You and I met there several times, but I know you meet a lot of folks. I stand out a bit because I walk on crutches). Your folks will go down in my life as two of the finest people I ever knew. It was a privilege to know them.
Please know my thoughts and...
