Horace was the kindest man! His presence will be missed. Looking at the tenor section in HCS without him singing will be tough for all of us. What an incredible life.

Dear Carol, It has been these many years since I saw you and Horace last , my last season with From This Day Forward, but I I remember him well and always knew that he was a fine performer...and so did Gigi. (she passed away back in 2016) I came over to Valdese last year , and stopped to stay the night with Joy Mc Mannes in Hickory , we had talked about folks who were still in the area , with Debra Murray who we had dinner with , and ya'lls name came up. Am so sad to hear of Horaces passing ,...

My dear Aunt Carol, I am so heartbroken for you at the loss of Uncle Horace. I just wish I could be there to hug you and love on you. What precious memories I have of Uncle Horace. He was so kind, gentle and caring! And such a beautiful voice too! I'm certain that daddy, mom and him are having quite the reunion in Heaven with lots of beautiful singing. Continued prayers for you, Michael and the whole family. I will see you soon. Much love to you all!
Love, Diane

I will never forget the sign he had on the wall of his classroom at Valdese Jr high. "My day is complete, I heard a child laugh." I think of that statement when I hear the laughter of my own children. Mr. Brown will be missed. Your family is in my prayers.

Our deepest sympathies to the Brown family. My oldest, wonderful, son Michael II so enjoyed Horace's class in Valdese. He has done well in life thanks to Mr. Brown in his teaching and mentoring of young people. The world has a void without him.
