Horace Chandler DAVIS

May his Memory be a Blessing to his family, friends, and colleagues.

As a brash young student, I was always disappointed that my texts were "Elementary Calculus", "Basic Calculus" and the like. Finally, in second year Engineering at U. of T., the text was "Advanced Calculus". I understood (and remember) little of it, but I distinctly remember Professor Davis as he did his best to teach it to me and my classmates. His dedication to both his students and his causes was clear. I remember him telling us at the end of one lecture that he would hold office hours...

What an extraordinary life that inspires us to be braver and more present. We feel so lucky that we got to meet him. He had such a kind, warm, radiant, and soulful presence. We donated to B'Tselem in memory of him, and your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

We have donated to B'tzelem in Chandler's honor. I admire him as my friends Hannah and Simone's dear father, and as a beacon of light for social justice.

I did not know Mr Davis but I cannot begin to tell his family how impressed I am with the purposeful like he led and all the good he did. Thanks to the family for telling us about him !
