I worked for Horace for several years. As a teenager, and rebellious, I thought Horace was gonna be a pain in my butt. Instead, he would call me his princess. Horace seemed to play like the tough manager without a heart, but that man had one of the biggest hearts. I often wondered how he was and if he was well. This saddens me to see he has passed on. He left a permanent mark in my life and I wish peace for those he left behind. Rest in peace Horace.

I met Horace at the Paoli Acme when I was 16. Otherwise known as Big H to us kids. I've been with Acme now for 31 years, I've yet to meet a manager of his caliber. He was Stern but fair, and really a great teacher how to get things done in a fast orderly fashion. To his two sons I had the pleasure of working with, Keith and David, your dad was awesome. Ellen, I was so saddened to learn of Horace's passing.If you remember, we worked together at Food City. then you and I worked together at the Sear's Service Center.
