Horace Wendell Moore

Mr. Moore was my friend and co-worker at Shields School. He was the band director and I was the music teacher. I have many fond memories of him, the faculty and the students at Shields school. Mr. Moore was loved by all. My condolences and love to the family.

Sincere condolences to the Moore family from the Andrews Family of East Thomas. The Moore Family were definitely family to us and we join you in honoring his life. Our grandmother Mrs. Alberta Andrews and his mom Mrs. Irma Moore were very good friends and attended First Missionary Baptist Church of East Thomas. Rest Well Horace Wonderful Moore. We loved you but God loved you best.

Mr. Moore was a was a great teacher period. I will always treasure the memories of being in the band and his geography class. Words can´t express the love that many in the East Birmingham and Alberta Shields School felt for him. Whenever he was present at an event, every former student wanted to take a picture with him.

My condolences to the Moore Family. Mr. Moore was my music teacher when I attended Alberta Shields School in East Birmingham. He was a great teacher but he didn't play. When he sat next to you and tapped his stick against the chair to keep time, you better get it right. LOL. He taught me how to play a clarinet and read music, and prepared me to become a member of the Hayes High School Pacesetters band. RIP in peace Mr. Horace "Wonderful" Moore.
