Horace F. Pace Sr.
Our beloved father and grandfather, Horace F. Pace, "Pony", 88, of Palmyra, Virginia, departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2008, at his residence from cancer.
Born January 5, 1920, he was the son of the late John B. Pace Sr. and Kate S. Pace. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Fannie T. Pace; two brothers, John B. Pace Jr., Richard Pace Sr; three sisters, Helen Allen, Beulah Johnson and Bessie Kidd; one grandson, Ricky Bowling.
He is survived by three children, Horace F. Pace Jr. and his wife, Lucille, of Troy, Peggy Douglas and her husband, Bill, of Scottsville, Brenda Emery and her husband, John, of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Janet Kirby and Cecil of Charlottesville, Greg Pace and Peggy of Troy, Kim Ashley of Faber; Randy Bowling of Palmyra, and Lori Jones of Palmyra; nine great- grandchildren; Doug Sprouse of Charlottesville, Amber Ashley, Bryan Ashley of Faber, Kayla Pace of Troy, Michael Bowling, Virginia Bowling and Randall Bowling Jr. all of Palmyra , Kristen Jones and Timothy Jones of Palmyra ; four sisters, Clara Tritle of Springfield, Doris Thompson of Richmond, Leona Briggs of Colonial Heights and Libby Holliday of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and numerous other nieces and nephews, and many friends.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Piedmont, and everyone for their love and support.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2008, at Colbert Funeral Home in Bremo Bluff.
Graveside services will be at held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2008, at Fluvanna Baptist Church with the Reverend Buddy Woodson officiating.
