Not sure what to say?

Dear Dixie, Alan and Joni--
I am so sorry for your loss. Horace was like a family member--I remember fondly the many Christmas Eves our families spent together. Obviously, I know of his talent as an architect, but in later life, I realized his art talent through his displayed work at GlenAire. I'm sure he and Dad are working on their next project now!
Love to you all. Susan Fishel Owens

What a handsome man~ I met him only briefly, but communicated to him most Sundays via his beautiful daughter Joni. I know how much Joni loved him, which was evident by her tireless work taking care of him on a regular basis over the years, and how much he loved her and his family. Sending my love, sympathy & prayers to Joni & Bob, Ashleigh & Austin, Joni's sister and the rest of the family.

My loving Uncle Horace always got onto me when I'd come over to his home at McGregor Downs years ago and he's ask me for a drink so I'd tell him I'll take a Jack and coke....He's say, "Son, you're spoiling the Jack with coke"... So I started ordering a Jack and coke on the rocks/hold the coke. That'd put a big smile on his face!....Miss you Horace.

I'm so sorry I won't be able to attend the funeral. I don't arrive back in NC until Sunday. Horace was such a nice man and I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to get to know him over these past few years. I know he leaves you all with some really great memories. He certainly created a very special family whom I love dearly. I know he will be enjoying a glorious Christmas in heaven back together with his wife. Love and prayers to all of you!

Dear Dixie, Joni and Alan,
Our hearts go out to you on the death of your father. I know he had a long and happy life, and it was his time to go back to the Lord, but it's still hard to lose a parent.
Your dad was a lovely man: smart, kind, funny, warm, and big-hearted. He gave my mother some happy years that she never would have expected. I feel blessed to have had him in my family's life as well.
Sincerely,
Nancy Hemphill
