Horst was always a blessing to those of us who were part of his extended family at All Saints Lutheran. He always had his wonderful smile and called you by name. He did not hide his light under a bushel, but shared it with those around him. From his personal story given in his obituary, there were many facets to his life of which we were unaware. However the Horst we knew was sufficient. A true blessing and a gentle man. I will miss him.

Yes, he did always have a smile on his face! I remember the happy days of my childhood spending a lot of time at his house and playing in his beautiful yard, helping him in the garden, swinging on the rope swing, and playing in the really cool doll house he built for his girls. He was so loving and kind and would always have a great big happy greeting for me. He was my only real uncle and I will really miss him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. He was a wonderful man and good friend. He brighten up our church whenever he was able to attend. He always had a smile on his face. This is something we will always remember. He will truly be missed at All Saints.
