Helseth Family:
We just learned of Dr. Helseth's passing last month at our (6 yr-old) son's yearly heart appointment and it has saddened me deeply. Although we did not know him very well, we still considered him "family" as he gave us a chance with our son. Dr. Singh and Dr. Helseth took very good care of our transposition baby.
In addition to our son, he also did the same transposition surgery on my nephew 6 years prior to that. If you look through the scrapbook that was put...

Dear Helseth family - dear Anne. My I express my deepest condolences. I never got to know Mr. Helseth but other members of the Helseth family. People all blessed by God in a very special way. My own father is reaching out for God´s hands in these days at the age of 71. It will be a great loss as Mr. Helseth is - but life must go on and will go on for those who believe.

We are so sorry to have just found out about your loss. We read about Dr. Helthseth's passing in the Parents for Heart Newsletter and were very saddened. It leaves a very huge empty feeling in our hearts. We are parents of a child he has worked his miracles on. Our son had 5 surgeries over 15 years. We always felt we were in the best hands we could be in. He is now 26 and got married to a wonderful gal a year ago. None of this would have been possible without the great care of both Dr....

Our deepest thanks Mrs. Helseth for sharing and supporting Mr. Helseth all these years. God blessed him with a great gift as a heart surgen. He used those gifts 13 years ago twice, with our baby daughter. She was in congestive heart failure and not expected to live through the night. Dr. Helseth repaired a very challenging heart defect with great sucess. Every time I see my beatufully healthy daughter, I am remineded of God's goodness and grace and the gifted work of your husband through...

Dear Mrs. Helseth & Family, my deepest condolances to you all. I have worked for the Helseth's for the past several years and have many fond memories. I heard from the next door neighbor a few years ago that Mr.Helseth (that's how I knew him) was a gifted surgeon and that Dr.Helseth was the only doctor he trusted for his operation. Dr. Helseth was very humble, when I spoke with him, he never correted me that I should address him as Doctor instead of Mister. As I read all the messages posted...

To the Helseth Family,
Dr. Helseth, along with Dr. Singh, performed two open heart surgeries on our, now 11 yr old, son. If it wasn't for him our son would not be alive today. Maybe he mentioned getting a tie with a heart surgery theme on it for Christmas from a patient...that was us. We are sorry for your loss and think of him often. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear family of Dr Helseth,
My name is Kirsten Garwick, and Dr Helseth was my surgeon from the time I was two weeks old until he retired. Thanks to Dr Helseth, I am a healthy, thriving, nearly-28-year old looking forward to my wedding in one month. It is because of the "Golden Hands" of Dr Helseth that I am here today, now working as an RN at Children's Hospital. It's funny how things come full circle. I am ever-grateful that Dr Helseth was at the beginning of mine.
May God...

I am so sad to learn of Dr. Helseth's death. He was a wonderful teacher and support to me since my first year of nursing once he saw my St. Olaf nursing pin! When I saw him after retirment, he always asked about my boys and was always so kind and gentle. I will miss him very much, he was a gifted surgeon and a wonderful man.
