Howard "Roy" Allen, 62, of Minerva, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 in Great Trail Care Center following a long illness. Born in Glendale, WV, September 11, 1940, he was the son of the late Walter and Dorothy (Woods) Allen. He was a machiner repairman who worked for Ford Motor Company, a member of the grand Rapids Sportsman Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Minerva, Louisville and Maumee, He loved raising miniature schnauzers.

He is survived by his wife Shirley (Fogle), daughter and son-in-law Darlene Yvonne and John Stinson of Springfield, MO, son and daughter-in-law William Howard and Denise Allen of Taylor, MI, daughter and son-in-law Angel and Joseph Hardman of Minerva; sister Patty Dyer of East Canton; brother Walter Allen of East Palestine and six grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at the Bartley Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 15, 2003 from 5 - 7 PM. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM. Following cremation, burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll County Hospice.
