Howard Anderson

Howard Anderson was an extraordinary man. The Third Friday Group was his inspiration and one of the few mainline LDS outreaches to the gay community. I will always value and appreciate the understanding he showed to gay LDS people. He was not a afraid to offer friendship and love to men and women the official church had rejected. A true Christian gentleman.

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who is 'binding up the brokenhearted and comforting those mourning' sustain you during this most difficult time in your life. (Isa. 61:1,2). Again, my deepest sympathies.

Howard B. Anderson was influential in my years growing up in the Westwood I Ward. I remember many a bishop's fireside when he spoke as if directly to me. He was a powerful conveyor of the Spirit with a deep knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will miss and remember him.

Howard was always a pleasure to see walking through the doors to the bank. We always knew we would get a funny joke and kind words before he was done his transaction. From all of us at Union Bank our thoughts and prayers go out to Midene and the rest of the family.

Howard was a dear friend. I always appreciated his keen judgment and sense of humor. He is remembered for his faithful service as Mission President and Stake President in Los Angeles. Part of his legacy is the introduction of the Missionary Badge, word world-wide and for his service as a Sealer in the Temple. Deepest sympathy to his family for the loss of this great man.

Howard Anderson was a great man and a kind and powerful leader. My husband Matthew and I are so grateful to know and be influenced for the better by him. Our hearts go out to his wife and family, but know the knowledge and faith in Christ that Pres. Anderson preached will comfort them at this passing.

Howard was my Bishop, Stake President, and a very dear friend. I had many dinners at his home with Howard and his dear wife Midene. I will always value
the many lessons I learned from his wisdom and wit. He is an icon! I will miss his wit, smile, and twinkle in his eyes.

Howard was my stake president as a youth and when I left to serve my mission. I'm so grateful for his wonderful example of love and compassion, and his great sense of humor. He will be missed. Much love and condolences from the Keeler family to the wonderful Anderson family.
