Not sure what to say?

My heart is saddened this year as I reflect on Howie and Gwen . But I know they are together in a better place! Thank you Howie for 69 years of your friendship ! Condolences to his great family as well!

Howie and I graduated together. He was a good friend and will be missed. My prayers are with his family and friends. God Bless You All

You were a true gem, Howie. Always with a smile and a handshake waiting. Truly one of the kindest people I've ever met. Ere long, we will meet again, until then, Happy Trails my friend.

Howie was a true friend to all and an amazing friend he will be sadly missed God bless Brother

No words can express the feeling I had when Pat told me of Howie's passing. Combined with losing Gwen that is one heck of a blow to the family and community. I have known of Howie for years and became friends later in life "checking his fire equipment". These fine people will be missed. The Homestead parties will not be the same without them.

What a privilege to get to live next to Howie and Gwen! My interactions with Howie were always educating and enriching! The man never has a bad word to say about anyone and would do anything for you. Howie your presence here will be missed by Ellen and myself - just won´t be the same! RIP my good friend! The fight is over - we have the watch from here on out!

Howie you will be greatly missed in this community. You have taught us so much on the fire department. I will miss seeing you on the tender when we come to refill...I am glad you and Gwen are together again. RIP my friend.

Losing both so close together is tragic, Gwen and Howie are now together again, I am so sorry for your loss.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family for their losses. Howie taught me alot in the few years we had together from fighting fires on CCRFD together to Ranching operations, crushing rock and the mining history of Silver City. Both Gwen and Howie supported a dream I believed in and I am forever greatful for that opportunity. Great times at the Homestead with his famous Margareta's. Howie you will be greatly missed and well remembered. Bye for now.
