Not sure what to say?

I was a classmate of Howard both at Davidson and South Carolina law school. He was extremely bright and witty. I still remember Howard's stories about being a lieutenant in the Army at Ft. Polk, LA. After law school we moved to Texas, and we lost touch. I am very sorry not to be able to catch up again. Susan, my wife, Keith, and I send our sincerest condolences. We are sure that he leaves a big void.

An outstanding attorney and very likeable person! Tom Marchant + 379 Golden Bear Drive, J2 Pawleys Island, SC 29586

Did not know Howard personally, but certainly knew of his many accomplishments and contributions to the S.C. Bar, all bringing honor to a much maligned profession. I did know Susan from my years at Newberry College where she was a librarian. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. May God grant you His peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Howard's passing. He was always kind to me. He left a wonderful legacy of faith and service. James

Howard was a brilliant attorney and I enjoyed working with him when I worked for City of Greenville. My heart is with the family at this sad time.

Tragic, sad news. Such a young life to be lost. Sending deep sympathy to Susan, William, our son´s long friend of the past, and family. Rest In Peace.

So sorry to hear about Howard leaving us. We all knew each other at Davidson, and Howard was one of my favorites -- always funny, a little goofy, a great friend and a reliable fount of wit and charm. I shall miss him!

I feel sorry to hear a lost.
