My last message said most of it. But now a year later, Howie is still with me in mind and spirit. I think of him, talk with him as a write recalling his soooo musical insights that continue to hold true and helpful. Oh I would love to hangout with him again. That's it, gone but oh so not forgotten.

Howard was a true friend. He was the person I could go to for solace in moments of pain, in moments of musical confusion, to share ou mutual discoveries, and just to be there. How I miss those long deep conversations as we built our book together. That book, made out of our every day music making becoming ideas of history living together.
