Howard L. Brown, 80, Anderson, passed away February 15, 2006, at St. John’s Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 8, 1925, in Elwood, the son of Everett and Nellie (Laycock) Brown. Howard lived in this area all of his life, served in the US Navy during WWII surviving seventeen battles in the South Pacific. He worked 30 years for Anaconda Company and was a barber in the area for 22 years. He was an active member at North Anderson Church of God and was very devoted to his family.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Pat Brown of Anderson; a son, Richard Dean and wife Corinna Brown of Baytown, TX; a daughter, Jennifer and husband Mark Noland of Arlington, IN; three grandchildren, Chad and wife Lisa Brown, Lindsey Brown both of Baytown, TX, Michael A. Noland of Indianapolis; one brother, Roland and wife Maryann Brown of Muncie; one sister, Wilma and husband Charles Malicoat of Muncie.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Brown who died serving in Viet Nam.

Service will be at 10:00 A.M Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton, IN.

Friends may call from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
