CHANDLER - Howard J. Jr. "Hap" May 15, 2009 of North Collins, NY. Beloved husband of Barbara (Stone) Chandler; loving father of Kathy (David) Urban, Kenneth Chandler, Jeffrey "Hoj" (Amy) Chandler, Karen (Daniel) Snyder, John (Dianne) Mallaber, Joseph (Wendy) Mallaber, Diane Mallaber (Tim Dodson), James "Biff" (Gail) Mallaber and the late Kimberley; grandfather of Joe Jr., Alicia, Danny, Katie, Jamie, Kellie, Kevin, Dave, Kimberley, Sara, Emily, Lauren and Phillip; great-grandfather of Jeffery; brother of Edwin (Mary) Chandler and Christine Sitarski; also survived by many nieces and nephews and special niece Cathy (Gary) Keppel. Friends may call Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the WENTLAND FUNERAL HOME, 10634 Main St. (Route 62), North Collins, NY, where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 AM. Hap was secretary of Fortune Lodge #788 F&AM, under whose auspices a Masonic Service will be held Monday at 8 PM. A former Little League coach, commissioner Little Loop Football, band and color guard booster, member and treasurer N.C.V.F.D. for over 35 years, and a past director of the North Collins Emergency Squad. Flowers are gratefully declined.

Dear Aunt Barb and family,

Although the miles separate us, you know you're always in our hearts. Words just can't express the sadness we feel so far away. The memories of days past will stay with us forever. I'm so glad Danny has all the memories of those wild and crazy camping trips. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.

He will always be in our hearts and he will always be watching us from above. He was and still is a great man, great grandpa, grandpa, father, brother, uncle, and friend. We all would not be the people today if it weren't for Hap. We all love you and will miss you deeply.
