Not sure what to say?

We still miss this kind and gentle Man. Remember him fondness.

May his memory be a blessing to us all.

Rest in peace Howard.

To the Family: I am just learning of Howard's passing and although it has been some time, wanted to take a minute to extend my condolences Howard was a passenger of mine (in Houston) during one of his visits to MD Anderson and even during this time, his attitude about life was memorable. He shared memories of his late wife and he was just an inspiration. He has been in my prayers and as he came to mind this morning, I looked him up and realized he had passed. Barbara and I are thankful to have known Howard (since he and I sailed together as CG officers on the cutter ANDROSCOGGIN), and Marilyn (during one of our "ANDY" reunions). He was always a scholar, genuine, thoughtful and a true gentleman. Fair winds and following seas, shipmate. The battle is won!

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends, colleagues and neighbors oon the passing of the beloved and Honorable delegate. He is sorely missed.

He fought for his country as a young man and continued to give military service for many years thereafter. He rose to esteemed rank in the USCG reserve forces. And last, he fought cancer, the most patient and enduring of all adversaries, to the final end. Howard leaves a distinguished legacy of life to his family, and of...

Howard, You fought the good fight, did the right thing for the right reason, and were a "social change agent and leader for the greater good of the community" (Flexner). Together with Marylin and Eric, you changed the hearts and minds of many. My deepest sympathies to you, Josh, and to Emily. It was a great honor to know your parents.
