Howard Cornwell

1931 - 2022

Howard Cornwell, age 90, passed away March 11, 2022. He was born on May 25, 1931 in Osborne, Kansas.

Howard joined the Navy in 1950 where he became a Seabee in the Korean War and was stationed for most of his service in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1954.

Howard married Virginia Bumpass in 1958 and they moved to the Santa Clarita Valley in 1962. They bought their first and forever home in 1966. They had two children, Connie and Fred. They were also so blessed to have great neighbors and friends, Ann and John Barrett, since 1966.

Howard was in rough grading construction his entire life and had his own company for a short time. He worked in Alaska on the pipeline for a while and for C.A. Rasmussen Inc. for several years before his retirement in 1992.

Howard was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia in 2013. He is survived by his two children, daughter, Connie (Cornwell) Hernandez married to Luis and son, Fred Cornwell, married to Mary, five grandchildren, Brooke Dupuis-Graves, Eric Hernandez, Sean Hernandez, Hayden Cornwell and Zachary Cornwell who has been waiting in heaven for him since 2015. Two great grandsons, Lennox and Beau Graves. His brother Lowell Cornwell.

Funeral services will be held April 21st at Eternal Valley Mortuary in Santa Clarita. Visitation will be from 1-2 and the service 2-3 at the Oaks venue.
