Howard Leon Cropper

My sympathy to Howard's family. I worked at the Nimitz Library in Reference for many years and Howard was a good friend. His intelligence and insights into life at the Academy were helpful. We often talked together at supper when we worked nights. He loved his family and cared about children and their learning computer skills. My thoughts and prayers to his family. He was a good man who will be missed..

I worked with Howard at Nimitz Library back around 1979-1980 and again at K-mart many years later. Howard was a special person who had a smart wit and always willing to help out. He would always acknowledge me when we met in passing, he was the kind of person that you would not forget but always remember with a smile. My sincerest condolences to his family.

I have had two short years to get to know Howard. I feel blessed to have had that priviledge. We would take our dinner breaks together once in a while and chat. Because my name is Mary he would start singing the first line to the song "Mary don't you weep" whenever I would come around him at the library. Now I will think of him when I hear that song. I will miss our talks and his tips on gardening. God bless the family and his journey in a better place.-Mary Danna

I am Jack Martin's girlfriend and never met Howard but he answered the phone at the Naval Academy and we would chat a little. Jack thought a lot of Howard. He mentioned he was a hard worker, very dependable, liked to joke and would give out free candy to the midshipment. Jack misses Howard a lot and we both send our deepest regrets to his family.
