Not sure what to say?

To the family of Coach Engel, a treasure of the Lansingburgh community. Soft spoken , yet a true leader. Like many of the athletes from Burgh that experienced playing for Coach, the same sentiment come from me as well. I also played on our Section 2 baseball championship team , an accomplishment we will forever cherish. Coach taught us respect, hard work, and teamwork will deliver benefits throughout life. Many of his students and ball players have gone on to do Gods work and many great...

Mr. Engel will surely be missed! He was a great teacher and a wonderful baseball coach. I had the pleasure and honor of playing on the JV Baseball team at the Burgh. My sophomore year l was on the Varsity team while Mr Engel was still with the JV. That year wasn't the same without him with the Varsity. That all changed when he became the Varsity coach for my Junior and Senior years. I started every game that I played for him! The culmination of it all came at the end of my Senior year when Mr...

Coach - you were my early life mentor/role model. You kept me straight. Just what I needed. Such an honorable example you set for untold thousands of impressionable youngsters. Last time I saw/spoke to you was at our 10th Lansingburgh HS reunion in 1985. Many things I meant to tell you/ask you. BTW - never knew you joined/served in the AF. I retired at same AF base you served at - then Ent AF base now Peterson Space Force Base. I still work there as a DoD contractor. What an...

I had the pleasure of having "Coach Engel" as my baseball Coach for all four of my high school years at Lansingburgh. He coached us to the Class B championship against Albany Academy in my final year in 1976. He was the best, he believed in every players ability and brought out the best in all of us. He was not only a coach but someone whom I could look up to. Rest in peace "Coach".

Mr. Engel was a great teacher and just a great guy at Lansingburgh High back in the 70s. And at least a few girls had a crush on him because he was the cutest thing ! LOL

Howie. I am glad to have known you. Rest in Peace.

Mr. Engel, you were an amazing Vice Principal. Had a few talks with you when I was sent to the office, never did I feel like you were upset or disappointed bc when you spoke to me it was all about encouragement and supportive. You will be missed by me and so many other students that had the honor of interacting with you. May you rest in peace now.
