Not sure what to say?

I met Howard in 1980 when we live in Lawrence, Kansas at the same time and both dated law students in the same class. Although seperated by time and distance, Howard has always remained a friend I treasure. I just googled him to arrange a visit when I stop by Topeka on work. Shocked and sorrowed to learn of his passing. So sorry to miss your final days, my friend. Be in peace.....Martha

I'm so sad. A real loss to all his friends. Mohamed, my deepest sympathy to you.
Howard welcomed me to the English staff at Washburn and was always helpful and generous with praise and encouragement. And humor.

One of the most wonderful and stimulating people I ever had the pleasure to meet. I have only the fondest memories of him and he will be missed more than one cam imagine.

Dr. Faulkner was one of my favorite professors, and he directed my honors project. Praise from him was gold! So sorry he has passed.

I am devastated to hear of Dr. Faulkner's passing. He was one of the most phenomenal things to ever happen to Washburn University. I struggled my way through Modern English Grammar and was ecstatic with the B- I earned in that class. I credit him with making me the grammar snob that I am today. He was a citizen of the world, not just Topeka, KS. The sun shines a little dimmer today without him here.

Dr. Faulkner was one of my favorite men in the world. Kind, but with a sharp wit, learned and scholarly, but with a warm charisma, he was someone I have always greatly admired, and I cherished that he had been a part of my life. I will miss him greatly. I am truly sorry for your loss, Mohamed.

I had the good fortune to be an English major at Washburn when Howard was teaching. I took every class with him that I could. He was a brilliant scholar, an excellent teacher, and a kind and compassionate person. Gone too soon! My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.

Dr. Faulkner was one of my favorite and most inspiring teachers at Washburn. That was over 30 years ago. I remember his words of wisdom even today. I wish I could have had a long conversation with him before he passed. He had a great sense of humor, too.
