1930 - 2016
Died in Redding, CA on February 16, 2016. Son of he late Howard and Florence Finn, Howard was a native of San Francisco and a resident of Red Bluff. Howard was a fourth generation Californian; a graduate of St. Ignatius and U. C. BerkeleyNever one to live in the City, Howard pursued careers in shipping, timber and raising horses while living in Eureka, Yreka, Redding and Red Bluff. He was a member of the Bohemian Club, Frontier Boys, Rancheros Vistadores and a past member of the Pacific Union Club and the Ingomar Club (Eureka). Howard is survived by his wife, Sharen McKenzie Finn; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Glen Wells; three grandchildren, Finn, Madeline and Tucker Wells; his sister, Barbara Bentley, and his nephew Howard Bentley. He also leaves his former wife, Lynne Nyeland Smith, three step-sons and seven step grandchildren. A Mass in his memory will be said at Sacred Heart Church in Red Bluff, CA at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
