Not sure what to say?

As caringly portrayed here, Howard was always genuinely interested in the people and world around him. His keen interest in how things work was matched with his appreciation provided by a good chuckle, a good story, good music, and, greatly, his loving wife and daughter.

CATHY--YOUR OBITUARY FOR YOUR DAD IS A WONDERFUL REMEMBRANCE OF THE MUCH TALENTED PERSON THAT WE KNEW AND LOVED.LOVE TO YOU IN THESE SAD DAYS--

I wonder if anyone can tell me if this is the Howard Gunter who attended Auburn University in 1959-1960. I came to know that one because people kept mistaking us for one another. At that time, we did look very much alike. We published a little football-related newsletter together, and I encountered him later working as a board op at one of the radio stations in Rome, Georgia, where I lived.

I loved me some Howard Gunter. He was a true radio man and a great journalist. When I was fumbling around for the right description of something, Howard was always at the ready. Godspeed Howard.

I worked with Cathy for 15 years..My sincerest condolences are sent

Loved working with Howard. True pro. My prayers are with his family. Know that he is remembered fondly and will always be in my heart

I truly enjoyed working with Howard. He was a great journalist. You knew when he was having a great laugh and when a story got him in a bunch. Thanks Howard.

I remember Howard as a great colleague and journalist, friendly and always ready to help and advise.

Dearest Best Friend Forever and such a special joy to work with at the News Monster, WGST radio back when radio and our business was still real. My thoughts are with you Christy and your entire family. Howard was beyond special and I was blessed to have learned so much from him and his nuanced over-the-top sense of humor. Verklempt on steroids right now!
