Not sure what to say?

Dad: Time marches on and the empty spot in my heart is still there as I miss your steadying influence. However, I have so many good memories of trips and events we undertook. Additionally, I have many items that remind me of you and that steady me when I have concerns. Thank you for being such a solid rock on which my foundation was formed. I continue to miss you terribly!

Well, another year has come and gone and I continue to miss you. There are so many things that occur each day that cause me to ask myself "what would Dad do?". I wish we had been closer and I did not always live so far away; however, your advise and guidance was always important. Thanks so much for everything you did for me to allow me to have such a blessed life. It is comforting to know that you and Mom are again together. Please know how much I miss you both!

It has been another year and I continue to miss you. I also reflect on all the fun things we did together growing up. I miss your steady hand and gentle neutral approach to difficult subjects. I try to find the strength you always projected. I miss you so much Dad!

Dad: I miss you more each year and I appreciate you all the more as each year season's me. Thank you so much!

As the years pass from Dad's passing, the loss of access to his wisdom and steady, conservative approach to life becomes greater. We continue to miss him and feel the void everyday!

Dear Howard and Virginia,

I am so sorry about Howard but hope to write a letter to Virginia. My family was your across -the-street neighbor when we both lived on Murphy Avenue in San Jose. Virginia, I remember how much I admired you and have many fond memories of your stay in our neighborhood. Please send me your address so that I can write you a letter. My email is [email protected]; my phone number is 650-858-1483. Thank you, and happy holidays!

Dad, I still miss you very much and think of you almost everyday. There are so many things that happen in my life where I wish you were still here to advise me. Also, I wish I was as self-made, well rounded and independent as you were. Additionally, you would be so surprised about how well my plants and bees are doing as well as how well the fish are doing in your pond! Love, Steve

Grandpa, you were a kind man with a diligent mind, a big heart, a gentle touch, and a disarming laugh that could befriend anyone. I always loved to listen to your stories and soak up all the wisdom you had to share. I'll never forget your love for your family, your devotion to medicine, and our times in your garden. You will forever be missed.
