Not sure what to say?

Farewell old friend and Central High school classmate of 1947...you will be missed. Harold Gutjahr

Howard Johnson was a very caring & giving man. I worked for Howard for many years & truly appreciated all the opportunities he gave to me. In 1996, he gave us a great deal on a piece of property in the Auto Plaza because he knew we were building a rollerskating rink for Aberdeen's kids. Without his generosity, we might not have been able to start our business. Thank you, Howard, for your kindness. You will be missed tremendously. The world is a much better place because you were in it to make...

I first met Howard at Monroe Junior High. He was a very special person even then. I am glad that I was able to visit with him during the Central High School reunion last September. He did a lot in the short time he was with us.

My condolences on the loss of Howard. We were oldtime classmates at Central High in Aberdeen and have seen each other over the years. Last time at the Class Reunion in 2002. Good friend of the family.

Howard was such a great influence on my life. He gave me my first opportunity in the auto business in 1970. In 1972 I was out of work for six weeks because of acute appendicitis, and he paid me for every day I was out. Years later after I had moved away, I was on a plane from Mpls with him and he offered me a car to drive for the weekend. How many people would do that? Then another time, I wrecked my car coming back for my uncle's funeral, and he gave me a car to drive back here for six weeks...

Larry and I send our heartfelt condolensces to you and your family. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

The life and work of Mr. Johnson shall be remembered in prayers of thanksgiving at Lenoir-Rhyne College, Hickory, North Carolina
