Howard McGruder´s name struck a chord when I read about his passing so many years ago. We were at Gadsden High at the same time and I´m glad to read that it seems he lived a fulfilling life.

Elaine -

We were saddened when we received your call that Howard had passed. We often think of you two, fondly of course. Howard had always been such an encouraging person, giving helpful advice to Julio. We will miss him dearly. Please call on us at anytime.

Uncle Howie,

I have been siting in front of my comptuer for a while thinking of what to say. There are no words that can be said to express how much I love you and miss you. You were like my father. You (and Elaine) have always been there for me. I always knew I could count on ya'll to help me with anything. I remember when I was a kid and I could get you to take me to the park as many times as I wanted, but only because you loved me and would do anything for me. I just wish you were here to still go to the park with me and Tara. She misses you and wants you to know that now you can be with her Dimp and Hootie.

Love,

The Niece

There are many people who pass through your life but not many that touch our hearts. Howard was one of those people. He was blessing to me and my mother. For the gift of his life and his friendship, I am truly thankful to God. He lived every moment to the fullest.
