The one time I met Howard McNeal, he welcomed me into his family as if I were his own child. This was last summer at the McNeal family reunion. I, like Howard, put family only after God. He will be missed by us on earth, but God has gained another angel.

I remember Howard returning from WW2 very well even though I was a young boy of 12 at Braselton School. Howard was an inspiration to many of us who served in public service because of his brave service in the army as a part of the 'Greatest Generation of Americans'. I had the opportunity to sing with Howard and his family at many Braselton High School Reunions through the years.
