I also was fortunate to know Mr. Proud. I believe that we all have a few people in our life's that greatly influence us . Well Mr. Proud was the most outstanding of all . He made life fun for us in his class room , (early sixties) with lasting memory's that we hold dear to our hearts, down to this day .He was the kind of man that became you friend. I was part of the small group that got together and went to visit Mr. Proud and his wife a couple years back . It made Mr. Him feel good that...

I also had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Proud . I believe we all have a few people in our life's that greatly influence us . Well , Mr. Proud was one of the most outstanding of all . I'm very fortunate to have had him as a part of my life and as teacher at FOHI. My friends and I all Share that felling , nothing but fond and happy memory's from the early sixties that carried on untill this day. Mr. Proud was a fine teacher with a great sense of humor, generous, a positive role model and compassionate human being. I was privileged to be his student for four years (FOHI Class of 62), spent many hours at his house with my fellow students who kept project animals in his back yard, traveled with him to buy FFA project steers as well as to the SB county fair in Victorville and the LA county fair in Pomona. It wasn't until a few years ago that I learned he was a WWII vet and POW and that...

My so sorry to hear that Mr. Proud has passed away. I was your fathers barber for many years in Fontana. He would call me to make sure I was working on the day he wanted to have his haircut. We would always joke back and forth on that phone call. Him calling me a "Old Dingbat Barber" and I would reply, " Is this the Picky Riverside Guy". We had many good conversations while I stood behind the barber chair. After I retired , I really missed his phone conversatioins.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Proud. He and his wife brought joy to my day knowing they had an appointment to get their income taxes done It was an honor to help them.They were quite witty and great story tellers I learned a bit about Mr. Proud P.O.W days in World War Two and his wonderful life. He was sharp as a tack and a pleasure to know.
