Howard J. Scheckel, 85, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, a member for 24 years of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Illinois, died at his home on Tuesday, September 5, 2000. Visitation is schedule for Thursday, September 7, 2000, 3-9 p.m., at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Wheaton. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 8, 11 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, 125 East Seminary Avenue, Wheaton. Interment will follow at Concordia Cemetery, Forest Park, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, 125 East Seminary Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187.
