Veronica I was deeply sadden to hear of Howard's passing. He was a big teaser at the bridge games. May God keep you during this time and always.

Veronica and family,
Our condolences on your loss. I will always retain fond memories of Howard. Not only as an excellent teacher, but also a great friend of the family. I will always remember the Saints Day celebrations and his eternal happiness and optimism. May his memory be eternal!

My sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Schmid. I had Mr. Schmid for a teacher at East Gary Edison and to this day, I can remember things taught by him, as that is the mark of an excellent teacher. Rest in peace Mr. Schmid. I am blessed to have had you as an educator.

My sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Schmid. I was a student of his at Lew wallace in 1976 and he was an excellent teacher. My prayers to the family during this difficult time.

The Schmid Family: May God, who sees your sorrow, guide you to a place of peace. Howard was a true gentleman and gentle man. He was a scholar who had a deep willingness to help students achieve; he always demanded high expectations. Howard had true compassion for the faculty and the students. At the end of the day, he could always make me laugh even though the day may have been a little rough. I missed that when he retired. I know Howard is now sleeping in God's beautiful garden.

So sorry to hear of Howard's passing but am so thankful that we all got to see him and speak with him at the class reunion in May. He was one of my favorite teachers and I know he will be greatly missed by all of you. May God give you peace during this time. Margaret Ash Trees

Veronica, my prayers are with you & family, as you go thru this trying period of life. May our Heavenly Father continue loving and protecting you today and always.

Very sorry to hear of Howard's passing. He was a class act and the students at Lew Wallace HS were able to have teaching them one of the best ever. Our prayers to all of the family. Dan & Patty Gile- Highland, IN
