STONE, DR. HOWARD L., 76, a retired Professor of Education at TWU Denton and Chairman of The Department of Education Leadership died Sunday in Denton. He was born October 20, 1926 to Rev. Albert and Mabel Stone in China. He attended University of Washington at Pullman, received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Hofstra University, his PhD. in Education from the University of Northern Colorado. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He married Sarah Elizabeth Ulrich on August 24, 1947 in Long Island, NY. He a charter member of the Rotary Club Denton South Chapter, Paul Harris Fellow, Lifetime service award; Treasurer of Phi Delta Kappa for UNT and TWU; President of Denton Area Retired Teachers Association; President-elect of the Denton Chapter 190 of AARP. Survivors wife: Sarah Ulrich Stone of Denton; daughter: Sarah Stone of Denton; sons: Bernard Stone of Roswell NM; Donald Stone of Southlake; Benjamin Stone of Rio Rancho NM; Stephen Stone of Denton; sisters: Margaret Moore of Longwood FL; Mary Yahnker of Greenville NC; 11 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. Visitation: Thursday 6 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial service: Monday at 11:00 A.M. at St. David's Episcopal Church, Denton. Memorials may be made to The Howard L.
