Our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Howard W. Van Dis. While I (Ed) did not know him well, I grew up as next door neighbors to his esteemed parents at Gull Lake in late '40s through '50s. And thus the at-large Van Dis family and V & A Bootery business were often the topic of neighborly exchanges. To the family of Howard VanDis, sending my heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Remember Howard from V& A Shoe Store, shopping many times with my mother, Corkie Boeschenstein. Howard was so friendly to us, each and everytime, and was so helpful in finding our shoes, and handbags to match. They were so sharp looking.
