Howard Herbert Wise, age 83 of Elwood, Indiana, died December 5, 2004 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness. He was born February 17, 1921 in Frankton. He was co-owner of Wise & Yohe Auto Body Shop in Elwood for 12 years. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1983 after 16 years of service and later worked in the Custom Van Shop at Heiser Ford in Elwood. He was a 1940 graduate of Frankton High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Survivors include - Wife of 56 years whom he married August 29, 1948: Mary Francis (Jarrell) Wise of Elwood. 2 Daughters: Laura and husband Richard Howells of Anderson and Becky and husband Bill Wallace of Decatur, Alabama. Sister: Rotha Jarrell of Alexandria. 3 Grandchildren: Kevin Johnson of Decatur, AL, Amber Sheward of Alexandria, and Clint Sheward of Anderson. He was preceded in death by - Parents: Herbert J. and Eva Bernice (Hewitt) Wise. Brother: Jim Wise. 2 Sisters: Caroline Nichols and Ruth Nick.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Jerry Hilligoss of the Florida Station Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood where the Elwood V.F.W post 5782 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Mr. Wise’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
