Nick was a great friend to me and the rest of the LoPresti family. We first met Nick at the Oshkosh race he used to run. We later competed with Nick at the CAFE races in California. I met Nick in 1990 when he came to Spartanburg to test and buy engines from our company for his Lightening Bug. The company was called AMW at that time. He and Howell ended up buying that company and moving it to Beaufort. I followed. I ended up living on the plantation for 8 months in the cottage while waiting for my property to sell in Greenville county. To the family and friends of Nick Jones...what an incredible life he lived! I am saddened to learn of his passing, but rejoice in knowing that he lived life with zest, surrounded by all his beloved animals and planes! Nick was a good friend of my wife's sister. He was a very smart man. In the early days of this friendship he would fly to Barnwell and buzz our house so we could pick him up at airport. Sorry to learn of his passing. Please know that the family is in our thoughts and prayers.
