My dad, Godfrey Stancill, was Mr. Taylor's room mate at Carolina. They were great pals and he loved Pat. He wanted to see him again before he died in 1995 but it never happened.

Pat had a major influence on my life and I have many wonderful memories of Pat to keep. His gift of word and true passion for all individuals was second to none and the mark he made during his time with us will remain for many years to come. May Pat rest in peace and my condolences to the family.

I enjoyed my time with Pat Taylor and considered him a great friend and Statesman. He was a good guy. To his family I extend my deepest sympathy during this time of great loss. May he rest in peace as he is remembered by legions of friends who knew and admired him.

I had the privilege of being Pat's page while he was Speaker of the House. I enjoyed his company in Raleigh and while traveling back and forth to Wadesboro. RIP.
