Hrvoje PERIC

When I started school at Eastwood, this lil kid from Cambridge Ontario, I was terrified. It was huge and there were so many students. There was this group of kids that were there a year or two before I got there. Hrvoje was one of those people. He was kind and compassionate, and oh so gifted. You could just tell that he was destined for greatness. I can absolutely see him directing a massive orchestra, but I am not surprised in the slightest that his heart lay primarily in passing on the gift...

I met Hrvoje when we both worked at Cornerstone Music. We'd go for coffee and became fast friends. I recall fondly when he started Sinfonia Alberta, and then started talking about this fantastic clarinettist, Natalia. He was thrilled when I told him that I went to University with her, and told me to "put in a good word". I can't recall whether I did, but it obviously didn't matter. A bit of a loss for words... Deepest condolences for the family I knew in Cambridge, and also for the family I never got to meet in Alberta.
Some of my best memories of Laurier were spent with Hrvoje playing chess, contemplating life, wondering what the future would hold for us.
As things do, we drifted apart after Laurier as his future pulled him one way and mine another.. Always thought that our paths would cross again with so many mutual friends in Cambridge/ Guelph area, but...

I met Hrvoje in our first year together at Laurier. We grew to be good friends especially during the first couple of years but eventually drifted apart, as often happens, but I still count our time spent together as some of my best memories from Laurier. His sense of humor was ridiculous, rivaled by his talent as a musician and dwarfed by his caring nature. I know I am better for having known him.
You'll be missed, Herb. I'm sorry we didn't get the chance to play together again.

To the Peric family, it was with a great sadness to hear of the loss of Hrvoje. He was much too young.

Sonja And I wish to express our deepest sympathies to the entire Peric family. He leaves this earth far too early but the impact on those he loved will remain forever. Rest in Peace! Pocivao u miru bozjem!
