Hubert Lucas Platt CREAM RIDGE Hubert Lucas "Luke" Platt, 94, of Cream Ridge, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at his home. Born in Bordentown, Luke was a longtime resident of the area before moving to Florida and later to Cream Ridge. A World War II Navy veteran, Luke retired in 1981 from the NJ Turnpike Authority. He was a life member of the Bordentown Elks, Lodge No. 2085, an exempt member of the Hope Hose Humane Co. No. 1 of Bordentown and a member of the American Legion Post No. 0026 of Plant City, FL. Luke actively enjoyed life, spending time with his family, dancing, playing golf and traveling with his wife. Son of the late Charles and Jane Platt, Luke was predeceased by his six siblings and his son-in-law, William Donnelly. Luke is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Joan Stevens Platt; his daughter, Cynthia Donnelly of Cream Ridge; his grandchildren, Ethan and his wife, Tracy Taylor, Owen Taylor and Ashlie Taylor, and his great-grandson, Kyle. Through a blended family, Luke is also survived by grandchildren, Linda and Joe Ialacci, Kathy and Vlad Kanterman and Bill and Kathleen Donnelly, and great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Dean Ialacci and Alyse and Justin Kanterman. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Nana for her loving and faithful care over the years and to the staff at Barnabas Hospice for the compassion, comfort and support they provided Luke in his last days. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church St., Allentown. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hose Humane Co. No. 1, 150 W. Burlington St., Bordentown, NJ 08515.
