Hugh would always come up to me and shake my hand at intermission or after the gig and we would talk about the old big bands. He sent me a great Bernie Glow article from an early issue of The New Yorker. Very nice man...always looked forward to talking with him.

Hugh was a great friend for almost 50 years, going back to the old WTVK days. I'm sorry to be away during this time, but Hugh was in my mind Wednesday evening(27 May) as we attended a jazz concert in St. Augustine Fl. Big band sound and familiar tunes..he would have loved it. Hugh added much to any gathering he attended...and his meals were a joy
to us "mountain campers". He was a great friend to my brothers, and later in life to me.
