I miss Hugh at election time. His was always a true Democratic voice.

Mary Irving and family, we are so sad for your loss. His was a life well lived. We send our deepest sympathy and condolences.

Hugh will be missed by his Myers Park High Scool friends. He welcomed everyone and especially those of us displaced. Remembering him at those functions, his smile was prominent. My sympathies to his family. Susie Davis Ross

I am sorry to learn about Hugh's death. He was a kind and generous man. I always loved bumping into him. I hope the whole Campbell family is able to enjoy remembering what a remarkable man he was.

I have known Hugh since 1972 when I began to practice law in Charlotte. I enjoyed his company when he became a judge and we both served in Charlotte. We met in a number of situations from social events at my home to investor meetings. He had a wry wit, engaging personality, wide range of interests, and was a delightful conversationalist. I'm saddened to hear about Mr. Campbell's passing. I remember him when I used to work at the Myers Park Library. He was such a sweet man. My condolences to his family and friends.
