Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear of Hugh’s passing!
He was a valuable member of the Rocky River community!

Hugh Goldie was a special guy. We knew him as a friend, neighbor and a coworker. He always kept abreast of what was happening in Rocky River and always and helped pass along that knowledge to others. At work you would always know that Hugh was taking care of his ships as he would talk to the captains in a strong and commanding voice to be sure they could hear him.
He was certainly a joy! We will miss him dearly.

To the Goldie Family,

We lost a great one! So many good memories of Mr. Goldie that it's not possible to capture all in one writing. He really will always be remembered as "The Mayor of Cornwall!" Every time I came back home to Rocky River, Mr. Goldie was usually sitting on his front porch and would welcome us with a sounding hello! Thank you for your service to our country - Semper Fi!

We had several years on Cornwall with him, and it was always entertaining. He remembered everyone by name and the stories!
He was a true gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Brian, Patty Loftus & Family.

Sending our condolences and thoughts to all of you! Will always remember Mr Goldie sitting on the front porch and we always chuckle when we recall him yelling at Luke to stop singing to me in the backyard when we were dating!

As the voice of the Rocky River Pirates.”one minute, there is less than one minute remaining in the period.less than one minute remaining in the period!!” He would belt this out like clockwork!
Everyone at World Shipping and in the Great Lakes shipping community loved Hugh. He was a straight shooter and always got the...
