Not sure what to say?

We will always cherish and remember Hugh's smile, caring ways, and THAT
voice! The family memories will carry us on....

I am sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. Hugh was my first boss. We were in our prime. From the first interview on Newbury Street to the many days we spent side by side in the woods he was always supportive and interested in my life. When it came time to tender my resignation with great guilt over leaving NEFF, he was the most supportive ever. He was like that... he knew what really mattered in life...he earned my respect and that of the rest of our professional community with his humanity. I...

To the Putnam Family, I knew Hugh in a proffessional capacity as a fellow Forester. From the first day that we met he was very supportive even thought we were working in the same area. The forest community has suffered a great loss. Hugh always had a smile and a kind word and that is what I will always remember.

The Putnam Family supported me when I was in need. Robin opened the door and Hugh and Heather welcomed me into their home, where I stayed for 4 years. I have wonderful memories of Hugh stacking wood, working in the garden, goodness, plowing, blowing and shoveling the snow! I loved popping corn and watching movies in the den with Hugh! He was an gentle soul and I learned much from him and his relationship with his loving wife, Heather and wonderful children, Robin and Ted. My prayers are with...

The world will be a sadder place without Hugh's leadership, sense of humor and noble spirit in our midst. He never lost his sense of balance or track of what was important in life - his family being first and foremost. A wonderful friend and example for us all.

Hugh believed in me and helped me to blieve in myself. He was a kind, gentle forest soul. Mary Wigmore

I will always remember Hugh as a kind and wise man. He loved his family, the earth and all its trees, and singing!!!! Such a good man. He was always kind to me.

With fond memories of Hugh and those high energy neighborhood touch football games after Thanksgiving dinner. Hugh was fast!
And Hugh's model train town was something to behold. I'll always remember Hugh as a caring, cheerful, and friendly neighbor.

Gone too soon....

My condolences and best wishes to the Putnam family.
